Wishing to transform
as I turn away once more
I become nothing
The gentle parts have
scattered away clutching words
far beyond my reach
Waves still rise and fall
Anchors begin dissolving
I begin to drown
Waves still rise and fall
Anchors begin dissolving
I’m starting to drown
I hate everything
Bitterly I remember
Myself most of all
Always remember:
not many can transcend words
but love remains one
The year grows tiny:
Regrettably not the last
Time I close my eyes
Green with golden touch:
a jewel’s care teaches still
of love’s endless reach
(December 12 ’25 outing with a wonderful friend.)
Three in the morning
The cat is grooming herself
My only company
Husband wide awake
…
Crows feet crinkling
I look younger without them
Lies of youth, a waste
